At primary school I remember saying “I want to be lawyer or a detective, (which my team do now say I am)”! but as with most people in social care a life experience led me here.
Following a career of 23 years in the NHS and 10 years of working in social care, I made the commitment to join Care at Home Group. My 33 years of care experience, covered an umbrella of nursing care, complex services, management of acute and primary care and most importantly person centred delivery. Working for the NHS made me feel alive, no day was the same and at some points I felt I was making a difference.
This difference could range from a board meeting action plan, improvements to services, most importantly making a patient smile. The reason I joined CAHG was for the same reason. Karl sold me a vision of quality care provision and the opportunity to make this sector our own. 4 years on and our vision remains strong. I am proud to reflect and see our achievements to date. Many businesses measure success in pounds and pence, not CAHG.
I measure success on compliments, smiles from my team and great feedback from customers and partners. I am proud to tell everyone I meet, I work at Care at Home Group, and sadly love every aspect of my role, but hey what a position to be in.

From day 1 of starting, I knew this was what I wanted to do, it’s such a rewarding industry to be a part of, being able to make a difference to people’s lives every day. The care industry is a career not just a job, I worked hard to develop myself and was registered Manager by the time I was 33.
My role now is Quality and Compliance Assessor and I love it, I get to support the registered managers and meet the amazing teams we have around the Northwest. I also get to help innovate and make positive change.
I have 2 passions in life, delivering the best Quality care to people and for my children to develop and grow into who they want to be. My journey has hopefully shown them that you can achieve what you want if you go for it.
